Proceeds of the Shepaug Valley-Litchfield-Nonnnewaug high school ice hockey club's upcoming match vs. South-West Conference rival Newtown will benefit families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.

The game will be played Jan. 12 at 1:50 p.m. at the Danbury Ice Arena.

Admission will be free but those attending are encouraged to contribute in the raffle and by donations.

Those unable to attend are encouraged to donate by sending checks made out to the Shepaug Hockey Booster Club, with "Sandy Hook Benefit" in the memo line, to Shepaug Hockey Booster Club, 16 School Street, Washington, CT 06793.

For the remainder of the season, the Spartans will wear green laces on one foot and white laces on the other foot, representing the Sandy Hook Elementary School colors, to honor Newtown and those who lost their lives Dec. 14, 2012.
