More than 400 Greater New Milford area runners of every make and model joined in the fun Saturday for "Run, Santa, Run -- The Sequel.'

The event was a low-key road race/walk hosted by the St. Peter's Lodge No. 21 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.

The race champions over a five-kilometer course along Young's Field Road and Housatonic Avenue were Paul Malek, 21, of Brookfield, and Linda Malarkey, 43, of New Milford.

They clocked respective times of 17:10 and 21:10 over the relatively flat, out-and-back layout.

The real winner of the second annual event was the American Diabetes Association, the beneficiary of the race's proceeds.
