Kent Park and Recreation notes

The Kent Park and Recreation Department is offering a variety of programs.
Office hours on the second floor at town hall are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Program registration forms are available outside the office weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lessons for boys and girls ages 6 and up at the beginning and intermediate levels will be given Saturdays from 7 to 8 a.m. from Jan. 3 to Feb. 7 at the Kent School at the cost of $60. Registration information and the form are available at kentctparkandrecreation.com or by calling 860-927-1003.
New Year's luncheon
The New Year's senior luncheon will be offered Jan. 7 at 12:30 p.m. at the Kent Senior Center, Swifts Lane. Advance reservations are required by calling 860-927-2055 by Jan. 2. The suggested meal donation will be $4, effective Jan. 1, 2015.
Skating is available at the Kent School rink Dec. 26 and 30 from 10 a.m. to noon for sticks and pucks and from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for open skate, and Dec. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon for open skate and from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for sticks and pucks. A park pass is required to participate and can be purchased at the rink. Participants must wear skates and hat during open skate and helmets and skates during sticks and pucks. Passes are $35 for Kent residents; free to Kent residents aged 65 and older; $65 for non-residents or $5 per day.
Tickets are available to residents and non-residents for a Jan. 4 coach bus trip to Madison Square Garden in New York City to see a women's college basketball doubleheader featuring Immaculata vs. Queens College and the University of Connecticut vs. St. John's. Departure from Kent Town Hall will be at 7 a.m. Cost of $77 includes transportation, game ticket and leisure time in the city. Paid reservations are non-refundable. Tang Soo Do
Martial arts classes meet Mondays at the Community House along North Main Street (Route 7). A Kids' Kick class, open to those aged 3 to 6, meets from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.; those aged 7 through adult meet from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Registration fee payable at class is $70, and $50 for each additional family member.
