North Carolina State wrestler Kevin Jack, a former New England champion at Danbury High School, upped his season record to 22-1 with one victory at the Pitt Duals on Saturday. Jack, the second-ranked wrestler in the country at 141 pounds, according to several websites and publications’ polls, defeated Nate Hagan of Edinboro by technical fall in his only match of the day. The Wolfpack, ranked 10th in the country, won all three of its dual meets, topping Harvard, Edinboro and Columbia. Fairfield University women’s basketball player Casey Smith, a former Danbury High star, scored a game-high 15 points and added seven rebounds, five assists and one block in a 60-55 loss to Quinnipiac on Monday. Smith has played in 14 games for Fairfield (8-9) and is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.8 points per game to go along with 90 rebounds, 10 steals, 28 assists and a team-high 12 blocks.
