Sixty-three students at New Milford High School recently attained one of the highest recognitions possible to high school students.

Those teens joined 41 seniors as members of the NMHS chapter of the National Honor Society.

Students must maintain grade point averages of 3.83 and meet standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character in order to earn recognition.

The Oct. 20 induction ceremony was hosted by senior Emma Bergman, with help from chapter president Timothy Rehm, vice president Emilyn Tuomala, treasurer Gyan Kandhari and secretary Kezia Varughese.

The guest speaker was NMHS world language chairwoman Lauren Iverson.
