A troupe of dancers from the New Milford area trained at Studio D will soon be taking bows at Lincoln Center in New York City.

D-Tour, Studio D's dance company, will make its 2015 debut March 21 in the ninth annual Performing Arts Educators Invitational.

The girls will perform at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, the largest at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

The event showcases dance groups, by invitation only, from across the United States.

Studio D owner and artistic director Rebecca Anderson Darling has been working with D-tour on a piece inspired by dreams and changing landscapes.

D-tour will perform this 10-minute full company work, whose musical score will include selections by Phillip Glass, XX, Coldplay and Dave Brubeck.

The D-Tour dance company comprises 31 dancers, ranging in age from 10 to 21, with a background in modern, contemporary and ballet dance styles.

Their season began in September with a two-day company intensive focusing on improvisation, unconventional partnering and team building.

D-tour will debut its new work at its annual winter showing Saturday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m. at St. John Episcopal Church parish hall, as well as in future performances in area schools.

Studio D is at 27 Main St., along the New Milford Village Green.
