To the Editor:
We would like to say thank you to all who participated in this year's eighth annual Swanson/Horrigan softball tournament.
This event was again successful due to our loyal friends, fans and family who take the time to come out and help us with this great cause.
Special thanks go out to Dave and Mark Lyon and their crew for running the games.
Thanks to the town of Washington, Parks & Recreation, the town crew, The Gunnery crew, Washington volunteer firefighters, Washington Food Market and all the local businesses and people for their generous time and donations.
We would like to say thank you to all the team sponsors and their players for their participation. Without your help and support, this event would not be possible.
We would like to thank them all for eight years of competition, celebration and love.
We are constantly amazed by the support we receive from our community.
The people of Washington and surrounding towns come together every year to create a family only felt by those who come out and participate.
We are blessed to live in this town that pulls together each and every time we have such a tragedy. It is indeed our pleasure to be surrounded with such loving people.
We are touched each year by the number of people who come out to raise money for this great cause to celebrate the lives of three very wonderful young men.
Our lives will never be the same with the absence of our boys but, at the end of each tournament, we are sincerely grateful to everyone who keeps their memory in their hearts.
Your constant generosity and yearly contributions help young students of the Shepaug region achieve their goals.
We look forward to seeing you all next year.
Spend time with your loved ones, and have a safe and healthy year.
Al and Lynda Swanson
