To the Editor:

On Aug. 10, Republican voters in New Milford, Sherman, Bridgewater, Brookfield and New Fairfield will choose a Republican candidate to run in November's election for probate judge in the newly formed Housatonic probate district.

Since it appears there will be no Democrat running for this office, next week's primary could very well decide which candidate serves as judge for the next four years.

I encourage all Republican voters to cast their vote for Judge Martin Landgrebe.

I have known Marty for more than thirty years. His compassion, friendly nature and intelligence have served New Milford and Bridgewater residents well for the last twelve years in his role as probate judge.

When the legislature was considering the consolidation of probate districts, I frequently discussed various proposals with Marty. His knowledge of the probate system and his desire to keep the courts from becoming too large and impersonal always impressed me.

Since the probate process can be confusing and intimidating, residents would also be well served by Marty's approachable and reassuring manner.

Please vote for Marty on Aug. 10 so residents in this recently expanded district can continue to receive the highest level of service.
