ROSES to those postal delivery workers and employees of FedEx, UPS and other delivery services for their efforts, especially during the holiday season and the cold, snowy winter months, to be sure each and every package arrives in one piece, safely and as close to on time as possible. It may be easy to criticize delivery people, but one should take a moment to recognize the challenges they face every day to accomplish their tasks.

ROSES to editors-in-chief Anastasia Kouloganes and Mike Stoklosa and their talented staff of writers, photographers and editors at New Milford High School's newspaper, "The Wave Review." At a time that newspapers are going through a transition in their relationship with readers, in large measure due to the Internet, we applaud the teens for their creative, energetic approach to their school newspaper (see story on Page S3). At the same time, we extend a gentle prick of a THORN for choosing to change the paper's name from The Chanticleer, a moniker the NMHS newspaper had proudly maintained since at least the 1920s. Change and innovation are to be commended, but respect for tradition and history is also a worthy trait.
