ROSES to the Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce and particularly its Village Fair Days committee, led by chairman Bob Hanna, on the success of its two-day summer festival held last Friday and Saturday in the New Milford village center. Roses go, too, to the many organizations, vendors and volunteers who contributed to make the 43rd annual event a memorable occasion. Graced by beautiful weather, the fair drew large crowds to downtown both days. The upbeat spirit displayed by many exemplifies the joy and benefits of New Milford's community life.

ROSES to New Milford Parks & Recreation, and to race director Michelle Gasiewski, for their efforts in making the 43rd annual New Milford 8-mile and eighth annual Village Fair Days 5K road races such a positive experience for the record 667 runners. The turnout was no doubt influenced in part by perfect summertime running weather, but the recreation staff and their volunteers deserve plaudits for guiding the event to a successful completion.
