To the Editor:

Yes, it's February and Christmas 2009 is practically forgotten.

But the Garden Club of New Milford would like to thank those who helped with holiday decorating.

Once again the Northville Volunteer Fire Department donated the Christmas tree for the bandstand which was beautifully decorated by Brownie Troop No. 40238.

In addition, the Park & Recreation Department assisted, as always, with the lighted garland on the bandstand.

Their contributions and efforts were greatly appreciated.

Throughout the years, garden club members have provided holiday decorations on and around the Village Green, in our hospital, for charitable fundraisers and other non-profit organizations.

As spring approaches, town gardens tended by garden club members will awaken from their annual rest and emerge with new growth.

Soon we can look forward to colorful tulips in bloom to brighten our lives.
