It's that time of year again to grade the NASCAR race teams.

-A year ago, Richard Childress Racing (RCR) was struggling terribly just to earn a top 10 finish.

So far this season, RCR driver Kevin Harvick is leading the points race and has two wins.

RCR's other two drivers, Jeff Burton and Clint Bowyer, are also in the top 12 in points and are hoping to stay in The Chase.

Overall, RCR teams have earned a B.

-Hendrick Motorsports gets a only C+ from me.

Jimmie Johnson has five wins and is fourth in points but Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are all winless so far this year.

Gordon is, however, second in points and Earnhardt and Martin are both knocking on the door to make The Chase.

-Earnhardt Ganassi Racing (EGR) has been a big surprise this year.

One of their drivers, Jamie McMurray, won the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400.

McMurray also has earned three poles and, right now, is the big money maker, earning $4,793,380 so far this year.

EGR's other driver, Juan Montoya, is 21st in points.

I'll give EGR a B for their efforts.

-Roush-Fenway Racing is struggling this year.

Greg Biffle finally got a win for that organization this past week at Pocono.

Drivers Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards and Biffle are in the top 12 so far this year and David Ragan is way back in 24th.

Those guys get a C (Carl gets an F for aggressive driving).

-Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) is in pretty decent shape.

Denny Hamlin is third in points with five wins and Kyle Busch is sixth with two wins and two poles.

Sophomore driver Joey Lagono is 19th in points and has one pole.

I'll give them a B.

-At Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), Tony Stewart is eighth in points and has two poles. Tony's teammate, Ryan Newman, has a win and a pole and is hoping to make The Chase.

They get a B.

The Sprint Cup guys are in Watkins Glenn Sunday.

Whip City Speedway: Peter Dance (9th).

Stafford Motor Speedway: SK modifieds -- Chris Jones (20th); SK lights -- David Webb (5th).

Lebanon Valley: Sportsman -- Kyle Armstrong (10th).
