GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — The family of a pregnant high school teacher in Maryland who has been missing for a week is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.
Laura Wallen's parents and boyfriend joined Montgomery County Police Monday at a news conference to plead for her safe return.
The 31-year-old Wallen is a teacher at a high school in neighboring Howard County. She was last heard from on Sept. 4, when, police say, she sent a text to her family. Authorities say she didn't show up for the first day of school on Sept. 5.
Wallen's car was found Thursday at apartment complex in Howard County. Wallen, who is four months pregnant, lives in Olney in Montgomery County.
Her boyfriend, Tyler Tessier, fought back tears at the news conference.
