EVERSON, Wash. (AP) — A Bellingham man and woman have been sentenced for a foiled attempt to kill the man's business partner in June 2015.
The Bellingham Herald reports (https://goo.gl/7WoRXt ) 28-year-old Sean Head was sentenced Wednesday to over 15 years in prison for soliciting to murder his business partner, 76-year-old Edward Davidson, at Davidson's house in rural Whatcom County.
Head's girlfriend, 24-year-old Esmeralda Martin, was sentenced to over 13 years in prison for the attempted murder of Davidson using a gun given to her by Head.
Prosecutors say Martin went to Davidson's house and came out of his bathroom firing, hitting Davidson in the shoulder. She fired until her ammunition was gone and fled. She and Head were arrested later that day.
Martin told Davidson through tears in court she was sorry for hurting him.
Head said nothing in court Wednesday.
