A title for #44
The Chemero Group had extra motivation this summer in its quest to win the 'A' division title of the New Milford Parks & Recreation men's slowpitch softball league. The team had dedicated its efforts to Frank Becker, a longtime teammate who has been ill and unable to don his familiar #44. Combining their diamond talents to earn the championship trophy were, from left to right, front row, Norman Abair, Joe Chemero, Mike Barberio, shown holding his son, Gianni, Rich Morea and Ernie Parker; back row, Davey Parker, Donnie Wright, Jason Maxwell, Kevin Zaloski, Aaron Johnson and Jeff Osborne. Hometown rules!
The Hometown Liquors men's softball team left nothing to chance recently as it swept to the 'C' division title of New Milford Parks & Recreation slowpitch softball. The Hometown crew rose to the occasion after posting a middling 9-9 regular-season ledger. Lending their efforts to the title cuse were, from left to right, Bryan King, Andy Perrone, Jeff Phillips, Nunzio Carrozza and Chris Behney; back row, Chris Phillips, Darren Lavallee, Dave Gonzalez, Brian Armstrong, C.J. Osborne, Pete Stone, Russ MacLaren, John Cassidy and Jim MacLaren. Absent were Bruce Munson and Chris Munson.

The Midway Joe's juggernaut rolled to a 17-1 regular season record and didn't slow its pace in the playoffs as it captured the 'E' division title of the New Milford Parks & Recreationn men's slowpitch softball league. The Candlewood Valley Motors/Fat City Screen Printing women's softball team ruled in the playoffs this summer to claim the title in New Milford Parks & Recreation's slowpitch diamond league. The Connecticut Orthopedic Associates women's softall team closed its 2012 season in New Milford Parks & Recreation slowpitch competition on a high note recently. After just missing out on a spot in the league playoffs, the Orthopedic diamond crew captured a trophy for winning a post-season tournament for non-playoff squads.
