A title for #44 The Chemero Group had extra motivation this summer in its quest to win the 'A' division title of the New Milford Parks & Recreation men's slowpitch softball league. The team had dedicated its efforts to Frank Becker, a longtime teammate who has been ill and unable to don his familiar #44. Hometown rules! The Hometown Liquors men's softball team left nothing to chance recently as it swept to the 'C' division title of New Milford Parks & Recreation slowpitch softball. The Hometown crew rose to the occasion after posting a middling 9-9 regular-season ledger. Dimond standouts The Connecticut Orthopedic Associates women's softall team closed its 2012 season in New Milford Parks & Recreation slowpitch competition on a high note recently. After just missing out on a spot in the league playoffs, the Orthopedic diamond crew captured a trophy for winning a post-season tournament for non-playoff squads.
