New Milford Spirit Shoppe and NeJaime's Wine and Spirits in New Milford will co-sponsor their semi-annual wine tasting Friday, April 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. to benefit New Milford Hospital's Breast Care Fund.
The tasting, which will feature more than 100 wines and specialty beers and spirits, will take place at Candlewood Valley Country Club on Danbury Road (Route 7 South).
For years, John NeJaime, owner of the New Milford Spirit Shoppe, has hosted the event, and donated more than $70,000 to help various organizations throughout New Milford.
"It's a great event for everyone," NeJaime said. "All the wines are chosen and targeted toward the upcoming warm spring and summer seasons.
"We have a large number of people who attend our tastings semi-annually." he said, "because the prices and savings are better than ever, plus they're helping to raise money for a wonderful cause."
The event will also feature drawing prizes, consisting of donations from local businesses.
Proceeds wil be donated to the mammogram fund.
Major bottle sponsors are sought to help with the new Buck a Bottle program. For every bottle of wine ordered, a sponsor will donate $1 to the mammogram fund.
"Generally, we receive orders between 600 and 800 bottles," NeJaime said.
Tickets, $30, may be purchased at New Milford Spirit Shoppe at 16 Prospect Hill Road, or NeJaime's Wine and Spirits at 164 Danbury Road (Route 7 South).
