William H. Moran Jr., 82, of Bethel, died April 24 at the West Haven Veteran's Hospital. He was the widower of Dorothy (Natale) Moran.
Mr. Moran was born Aug. 8, 1928, son of the late William H. Moran Sr., and Anna (Picker) Moran.
He served in the Army during World War II and was a Bethel resident for more than 50 years.
Mr. Moran worked in the printing industry until his retirement. He later worked many years as the groundskeeper at the old St. Mary's Church on Greenwood Avenue in Bethel.
He was known for his sense of humor and was well loved and respected by all who knew him.
Mr. Moran is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Somers, and her husband, David, of New Milford, Kathaleen Spain, of Danbury, and Dorothy Hannequin, and her husband, Pierre, of Bethel; a sister, Jean Venezio, of Darien; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Somers, Tarah and Shailee Edmonds, and Amy, Melissa, Kevin, and Matthew Hannequin; three great-grandchildren, Juleesa, Mariah and Dante; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today (Friday) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel.
A graveside service will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel.
