William Hoffman, 48, loved to travel

William R. Hoffman, 48, of New Milford, died April 21 at home with his family, after a courageous year-long battle with a Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumor.
Mr. Hoffman was born March 27, 1963, in Bristol, to Richard and Patricia Hoffman.
Mr. Hoffman had friends all over the country and world, many of whom visited him during his battle with cancer.
He was known to brighten the lives of his family and those who knew him.
Mr. Hoffman was an avid world traveler and enjoyed mountaineering, hiking, reading and fine dining.
He had a successful career in the insurance industry, the last nine and a half years as an underwriter in the Worldsource Division of AIG/CHARTIS in Manhattan.
Mr. Hoffman is survived by his parents, Pat and Dick; a brother, Kevin, and his wife, Somkid, of Portland; a sister, Tracy Bayers, and her husband, Peter, of New Milford; five nephews, Nick, Chris, Kevin, Ben and Sam; a niece, Helen; grandparents, Al and Theresa Wroblewski, of Terryville; two uncles, Tom Hoffman, and his wife, Melissa, of York, Maine, and Al Wroblewski, and his wife, Carol, of Bristol; cousins; and his special buddy, a dog, Spot. He was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Margaret Hoffman.
Services will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 12 p.m, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 7 Whittlesey Ave., New Milford. The family will greet friends in the parish hall following the service.
