The Connecticut Food Bank recently received a check for $4,000 from the White Horse Country Pub & Restaurant in New Preston.
The funds were raised through the annual sale of the White Horse’s unique Christmas ornaments.
Proceeds were donated and will provide 12,000 meals for those in need, according to Cheryl Thompson, director of philanthropy for the food bank.
In other news, The White Horse was recently honored as one of the best restaurants statewide by Connecticut Magazine in its annual Experts and Readers Poll, sweeping up a record Seven Statewide Awards, including Best Pub, Best Brunch, Best Outdoor Dining, Best Prime Rib, Best Value, Best Burgers and Best Lunch.
“I have a great culinary team,” said owner John Harris.
The White Horse, located on Route 202 in the New Preston, is open for lunch and dinner.
