Washington man faces multiple charges

A Washington man faces drunken driving and drug possession charges after a motor vehicle stop early Sunday, July 15, New Milford police said.

Shawn Kirk, of Sunset Lane, was stopped on High Street just after 1:40 a.m.

After a brief investigation and a search of his vehicle, Mr. Kirk was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to signal, police said.

He was released on $1,500 bond for a July 23 appearance in Superior Court in Bantam.
