WAA sets summer solstice festival

The Washington Art Association will hold its summer solstice festival June 22.
Offerings will include music by the 7 Mile Steel Drum Band, Caribbean-themed menu from The Mayflower Inn, Winvian, Community Table Restaurant, John's Cafe, The Pantry, Carol Peck Good News Cafe, GW Tavern and others, and Cuban cocktails.
Festivities at the WAA's courtyard, terrace and galleries in Bryan Plaza will begin at 6 p.m. when guests will be able to purchase paintings, prints, pottery, glass and other original artworks at bargain prices from the studios of local artists as part of the association's annual atelier sale.
Tickets are $45, with proceeds to benefit the WAA.
