Two men get five years each for armed robbery

A second man involved in New Milford in a November 2014 gunpoint robbery was sentenced Aug. 21 in Superior Court in Litchfield.
William “Pumpkin’ Slade, 35, of New Milford was sentenced to five years in prison, followed by five years’ probation for his role in threatening two men with a gun and knife on the evening of Nov. 24, 2014.
Slade has been held in custody since his Dec. 1, 2014 arrest on a $200,000 bond.
He pleaded to a charge of first-degree robbery with a deadly weapon.
His co-defendant, Maurice Collier, 24, of New Milford was sentenced Aug. 21 to five years in prison, followed by five years’ probation on a charge of first-degree robbery with a deadly weapon, and two years in prison on a charge of criminal possession of a firearm.
Both men entered into plea agreements with the office of the state’s attorney.
