Hunt Hill Farm Trust in the Northville section of New Milford will hold a Smokin' in the Hills celebration Sept. 8 starting at 6 p.m.

The event will kick off with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by a barbecue dinner, an auction, country music by Sundown Escape, dancing and line dancing lessons.

Hors d'oeuvres will feature pulled pork sliders by Tom and Amy Allingham, New England BBQ Society's 2008 Rookie Team of the Year and Competition BBQ Pitmasters first-place award winners.

The silent auction will offer get-a-ways, housewares, jewelry, fashions and home goods, theater and concert tickets, artworks, books, gift certificates for dining and more.

The farm-fresh dinner will include fresh-grilled chicken, prepared by Powerhouse Appliances' Jay and Jeff Buzaid; smoked BBQ brisket donated by Steve Ford of Newtown's Butcher's Best and smoked by The Cookhouse; fresh garden salads and fruit cobblers; and coffee with after-dinner drinks.

Items up for bid during a mini-auction will include a two-bedroom suite with kitchen at a Grand Mayan resort in Mexico, a gift certificate good at any of the Leading Hotels in the World, a two-night stay at the Mayflower, dinner for a host couple and 10 friends cooked in their home by Chef William Cosgrove of the Upper Crust Restaurant, complete with wines, and a Silo Cooking School party for 16 people.

Festivities will be held in a tented setting on the farm's museum field.
