Speeding along Danbury Road (Route 7 South) led to a drug possession arrest for a 24-year-old New Milford local man.

Alhenise Rosa of Flower Hill Road was stopped Friday, March 20 about 12:24 a.m. near the Valero gas station after a New Milford police officer saw his 2002 Subaru Legacy speeding, police said.

During the traffic stop, the police's narcotics K-9 dog was called to the scene and located marijuana hidden inside the car's steering column, police said.

The marijuana was packaged individually, according to police.

Rosa was arrested and charged with transport of cannabis with intent to sell and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.

He was released on $1,500 bond and faces a March 30 court date in Superior Court in Bantam.
