Tour of Kent Iron Furnace set

The Eric Sloane Museum in Kent will offer a free guided tour of the Kent Iron Furnace -- rain or shine -- as part of the 2013 Housatonic Heritage Walk program Sept. 21 at 1 p.m.
Patrons will learn about the history, methods and culture of the iron industry in Kent while viewing the ruins of the furnace on a short trail walk (less than a mile) on the banks of the Housatonic River
Interested parties should RSVP at 860-927-3849, but may also meet at the museum at 31 Kent-Cornwall Road (Route 7) at the time of the event.
Patrons should wear trail appropriate footwear.
Admission to the Eric Sloane Museum is not included in the tour.
