The 12th annual MVP SOS dinner and silent auction is slated Oct. 3 at the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury.

Union Savings Bank and Collins, Hannafin, P. C. are the co-presenting sponsors.

Proceeds benefit the Motivational Volunteers Promoting the Spirit Of Sports (& Activities) (MVP SOS), a 501(c)3 created “to ensure a solid foundation for the future educational and personal success of our youth by keeping them involved in athletics and educational activities in our schools and our community, regardless of their financial status.”

Since 2004, MVP SOS has raised more than $350,000 and awarded more than $270,000 to New Milford youth in need.

Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with the silent auction, wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres and socializing.

Food will be provided by Omaha Beef and the Cookhouse. Dinner will be followed by the presentation of the fifth annual Jay Lowe Award. A live auction, music and dancing will cap the evening.

MVP SOS welcomes donations in the form of merchandise, gift cards or certificates from local businesses for both the silent and live auctions.

Individual ticket prices remain at $85.

Sponsor tables of 10 are $800 and a limited number of sponsorship opportunities are available.
