Gunn Memorial Library in Washington will present a program, “A Life in Parts - A Conversation with Actor John Douglas Thompson,” July 30 at 2 p.m.

Thompson is a celebrated Shakespearean actor who just completed his performance of Caius Cassius in “Julius Caesar” in New York’s Central Park and is gearing up for his portrayal of Hamlet at San Francisco’s ACT.

Thompson will sit down with Michael Sexton, the artistic director of The Shakespeare Society, for an extended discussion of these and other roles he has played during his illustrious career, including Macbeth, Othello and Richard III.

A reception will follow the discussion at the Wykeham Road library.
