The Woman's Club of Greater New Milford will host its 19th annual Teddy Bear Festival Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Village Green.
Offerings will include visits with Smokey the Bear, escorted by firefighters from Water Witch Hose Co. No. 2; storytelling with Sue Ford, from the New Milford Public Library; a variety of entertainment; vendors and raffles.
Attendees are invited to visit the Teddy Bear Hospital with their favorite plush toys for a check-up with volunteer nurses from the Girl Scouts.
"Surgeons" will be available for plush friends in need of repairs.
In addition, an adoption center for bears in need of homes will be available.
New this year will be the Bare Bear Boutique, where inexpensive clothing and accessories can be purchased for teddy bears, including sweaters, blankets and scarves handmade by club members.
Proceeds from the event will benefit club outreach in the community.
