Twenty-five-year-old Bryan Moore of East Hartford was charged Monday with risk of injury to a minor and enticing a minor. Police say he sent inappropriate e-mails and text messages to the teenager.

Moore was a social studies teacher at RHAM high school, a regional school serving Hebron, Andover and Marlborough. District Superintendent Robert Siminski says Moore is no longer teaching.

Police say they began their investigation on Sept. 17 based on a tip from the state Department of Children and Families hot line.

Moore surrendered to police Monday and was released after posting $25,000 bond.
