MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) — A symposium that will remember the service of men and women from Tennessee in World War I is scheduled for next month.

The University of Tennessee-Martin says the 2016 Tennessee Great War Commission Symposium will be held in West Tennessee on Nov. 4 through Nov. 6.

An opening commemoration ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 4 at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. The event will honor the men and women of Madison County who served in the war and include proclamations from Madison County officials.

Four historians are scheduled to give presentations on different aspects of the war's effect on Tennessee in Jackson on Nov. 5.

The symposium will end with a living history performance Nov. 6 at the Weakley County Courthouse in Dresden.
