Susan J. Keeler D'Alessio, 67, of New Milford, died Feb. 5 after a brief illness.

Mrs. D'Alessio was born June 1, 1945, in New Milford, a daughter of the late Edwin S. Keeler and Eileen M. Flynn Keeler.

A lifelong resident of New Milford, she was a volunteer at New Milford Hospital, for Special Olympics through the Jaycees and St. John's Loaves & Fishes soup kitchen. She also taught catechism at St. Francis Xavier School in New Milford.

Mrs. D'Alessio is survived by her former husband, Vincent A. D'Alessio, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a sister, Sarah Jane "Sally" Loewe, of Fryeburg, Maine; four children, Danielle A. D'Alessio, of New Milford; Dominique "Nikko" D'Alessio, of New Preston; and Emily Faber and Giovanna Marino Ford, both of New Milford; 10 grandchildren, Austin Faber, Shamus Craft, Brody D'Alessio, Nicolas Faber, Iris Marino, Joshua Faber, Kaia Szulewski, Bailey Heron, Spencer Heron and Lucas D'Alessio; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin "Sonny" Keeler and Erwin "Danny" Keeler.

A celebration of life will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, Route 109, New Milford. Following the service, friends are invited to Sole Restaurant & Cafe, 10 Railroad St., New Milford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Credit Union of New Milford, 145c Danbury Rd, New Milford CT 06776, to aid with expenses. Excess funds will go to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

The Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford is in charge of arrangements.
