Two dens of older Cub Scouts from New Milford's Pack 467 recently attended a wilderness survival course in Gallatin, N.Y. Steve Lancia of the Northcamp Wilderness Survival School taught the Scouts about the psychology of survival, first aid, setting priorities in a wilderness survival situation, shelter basics, water purification and fire starting. Lancia's school teaches classes for youths and adults, and he has basic to advanced courses. Assisting the Cub Scouts were Bryce and Dylan Lewis of Boy Scout Troop 58 in New Milford. Joining Lancia, center, are, from left to right, in front, Webelos Aidan Atherton and Michael Karaffa, Bears Thomas Setear, Zach Johannsen and Nathaniel Dempster, and Webelos Bill Kaschube, Connor Rivera, Jarrod St. Amand, Ian Reguin and Talon Profeta, and in back, Webelo Jackson Higgins and Boy Scout Bryce Lewis.
