To the Editor:

As a staunch Democrat, I also believe one should vote for the best people.

This election year in Bridgewater, I support the Hawley-Null ticket of experienced, able candidates.

Nancy Hawley has a strong background in financial management and in negotiation and advocacy. She has been chairwoman and now vice chairwoman of the Board of Finance.

Leo Null brings a wealth of experience in housing and zoning requiremwents and issues. He has been chairman of Planning and Zoning for more than 10 years.

Each has demonstrated her and his management skills as administrators in private and public sectors. Each has an open, incusive leadership style, providing information on issues, asking for opinions and recognizing differences.

Both would devote the time and energy needed to ensure Bridgewater regains its promise of a vibrant community, protects its natural beauty and rural qualities, is financially prudent, and it retains its strong elementary school.

They run on their past records of thoughtful, independent, hard-working leadership.

They have never `gone along to get along,' they do not act from whim or partisanship, their decisions have been based on what is legal and ethical, what is financially sound, and what is best for Bridgewater and all its citizens.
