Peter Montgomery of Montgomery Gardens, LLC in Warren will be one of many residents of the Greater New Milford and Danbury areas who will attend an Oct. 5 tree planting project in Sandy Hook.
The Metropolitan State University and Inver Hills Community College will present to the community a tree project, sponsored by the Fruit Tree Foundation, to honor the victims of the Dec. 14, 2012, Sandy Hook tragedy.
A fruit tree orchard will be established at the town of Newtown's Victory Garden.
Montgomery, a fruit tree advocate, will be among many volunteers for the project.
The Fruit Tree Foundation is a non-profit fruit tree organization that plants trees throughout the world to help underserved populations.
Donations toward the project are welcome.
