To the Editor:

I read your articles concerning gun sales and lax gun laws with intent.

If I ask the question, "if fewer automatic assault weapons were available, would there be few mass killings?," the answer can only be a resounding yes.

I understand some people want to own guns. I acknowledge their right to do so.

I do, however, object to the general public being allowed to purchase automatic assault weapons. As we know, in Newtown a deranged killer was able to blast away security doors and shoot children multiple times.

I feel the NRA should stand for "no reason for assault weapons" and such weapons should be taken off the market.
