A memorial service for Ward C. Stumpf Sr., 79, of New Milford, will be held July 30 at 1 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in New Milford.

The family will receive friends beginning at noon at the funeral home at 87 Park Lane Road (Route 202).

A reception in the VFW hall on Avery Road (near the funeral home) will immediately follow the memorial service.

Burial will take place Aug. 1 in McClure Cemetery in Big Run, Pa.

Mr. Stumpf died July 18, 2010, at Village Crest Center for Health & Rehabilitation in New Milford (see obituary in last week's Spectrum). He was the widower of Edna G. (Meckley) Stumpf.

Mr. Stumpf is survived by three daughters, Cassy Rawnsley, and her husband Rob of Sacramento, Calif., Anna Carlson, and her husband, Brad, of Sherman, and Valerie Lorimer, of New Milford; a son, Earl E. Stumpf, and his wife, Susan, of Bridgewater; a daughter-in-law, Mona Stumpf, of New Milford; two brothers, John Stumpf, of Big Run, and William Paul Stumpf, of New Milford; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Ward C. Stumpf Jr., and six siblings.
