Stuart Barry, 77, had served in Navy

Stuart "Stu" Northrup Barry, 77, of Deerfield Beach, Fla., formerly of Brookfield, died Oct. 24 at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Fla. He was the wife of Sally Stevenson Barry for 54 years.

Mr. Barry was born Jan. 4, 1935, in Danbury, to the late John and Inez Barry.

He graduated from Bethel High School in 1952, served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1961.

Mr. Barry owned Delta Electric in Danbury for more than 25 years.

He was president of NECA for two years and served on the Local 488 IBEW apprenticeship board for many years.

He was a longtime member of the Ridgewood Country Club and served as president for three years.

He spent his remaining years on his boat, playing golf and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Barry is survived by a son, David, of Clermont, Fla.; a daughter, Cindy, of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; a brother, John, of New Fairfield; a sister, Elaine Smith, of New Milford; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton.
