Gunn Memorial Library in Washington will present a recital of music on a Steinway concert piano April 9 at 2 p.m.

Pianist Donald Alfano will perform at the Wykeham Road library.

Alfano's recital, with commentary will consist of a variety of works for piano, some of which are well known, and others more obscure but are drawn from the best composers for the piano.

The program will include Three Sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, two pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach transcribed for piano by Harriet Cohen, Piano Sonata in D major by Franz Jos. Haydn, Frederic Chopin's Polonaise in F # minor, Three pieces from Sergei Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, and The Engulfed Cathedral and L'isle Joyesue by Claude Debussy.
