The New Milford Senior Center has issued a reminder to residents that the way people receive their Social Security payments has changed.
As of May 1, new enrollees either need to subscribe to direct deposit or they will receive a prepaid debit card called Direct Express, where their Social Security income will be deposited.
With few exceptions, everyone else will be required to go paperless by March 2013.
Additional information and online enrollment for either option is available at www.godirect.org.
Enrollment can also be done over the phone by calling 800-333-1795 or you local Social Security office.
