The New Milford United Methodist Church will celebrate a special service of support of the DREAM Act Oct. 9.

The bill, Development Relief & Education Act for Alien Minors, gives undocumented students a chance to earn legal status if they came here as children, are long-term U.S. residents, have good moral character, and complete two years of college or military service in good standing.

The service at the 68 Danbury Road (Route 7) church is one of more than 350 observances taking place throughout the country Sept. 16 through Oct. 9.

In addition to scriptures, prayers and hymns on the Biblical theme of justice for the immigrant in our midst, the service will also feature presentations by several DREAM students, including Camila Bortolleto.
