The transit and economic needs of New Milford and its neighboring towns were on United States Sen. Chris Murphy’s mind recently as he paid a visit.

The Connecticut Democrat swung into town May 27 to confer with Mayor Pat Murphy, as well as the town’s economic development supervisor, Luigi Fulinello.

During his stop, Sen. Murphy toured the New Milford village center, chatting with business owners on Church, Main and Bank streets about their state of affairs and what might be done to improve the job market and downtown business.
