Three non-profit organizations in New Milford were recently awarded grants from the Connecticut Community Foundation.
The grants were part of the foundation's third round of grants for 2009.
They support early childhood education and kindergarten readiness, education, health care, human and social services, job training, arts, and assistance for non-profits to improve efficiency and operations.
Recipients include the New Milford school system ($8,620 for a P3 grant to hold two sessions for parents on kindergarten expectations), New Milford Hospital ($20,000 for continued support of its regional nurse/certified diabetes educator to provide diabetes outreach) and TheatreWorks ($4,000 to complete its fund development planning and community outreach project.
The foundation will offer two general grant rounds in 2010.
