Schaghticoke welcomes new assistant principal

Schaghticoke Middle School in New Milford has a new assistant principal for the 2015-16 school year.
Kerri Adakonis, a familiar face in the school district, was appointed recently to the position. She had worked as an administrative intern at Sarah Noble Intermediate School since 2012.
As a member of SNIS administrative team, Adakonis was involved in student placement and scheduling, discipline, special education and planning of special school events.
Prior to her arrival in New Milford, Adakonis worked in Fairfield public schools as a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher and the district’s instructional improvement teacher.
She also served two years as the Fairfield district’s principal of elementary summer school.
Adakonis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the University of Connecticut, a Masters of Arts and Teaching and Certificate of Advanced Studies in Administration from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.
She also holds certifications as a professional educator pre-K to eighth-grade and intermediate administrator supervisor from the state.
Suzi Greene, who served as assistant principal at Schaghticoke Middle School from 2012 through the 2014-15 school year, has taken a position with Region 14 as dean of students and athletic director at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury.
