Salvatore F. Rota, 83, of New Milford died Jan. 19 at New Milford Hospital. He was the husband of Marie Ellen Swift Rota.

Mr. Rota was born Dec. 8, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Vincent and Rose Baroni Rota.

Mr. Rota owned and operated Park Lane Limo Service in New York for 50 years, retiring in 2003.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a 40-year member of the Elks Club in Brooklyn.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, Mr. Rota is survived by a son, Gary Thomas Edwards; a sister, Jean Rota; a granddaughter, Taylor Alexandria Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.

The Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
