The 14th edition of the three-mile Run For A Cure road race will be held Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, to raise money for cancer research.
The most recent event in 2013 raised more than $2,000 for theNew Milford Hospital Regional Cancer Center
and the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, as well as another $400 for the Roxbury road race series’ stopwatch campaign.
Over the last 14 years, the race has generated nearly $20,000 for area charities.
This year’s $10 entry fee will be payable on race day from 7:30 to 9:20 a.m.
A seven-tenths of a mile children’s run will start at 9 a.m. in front of Roxbury Congregational Church.
Walkers and strollers will take off on the 3.0-mile course at 9:15 a.m.
Runners will start off at 9:30 on a loop which includes a steep climb on Chalybes Road.
The event is sponsored by Roxbury Congregational Church, theRoxbury Recreation Commission
and the road race series. The top male and female finishers will each receive a plaque.
Refreshments will be available.
