Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury will offer a Masala Bhangra dance class geared for all ages and abilities beginning Feb. 18 at 11 a.m.

Kelvia Flores of Viva Dance and Fitness Center of the Arts will lead the program.

Derived from two Indian words, “Masala, which means spicy in Hindi, and “Bhangra,” which is a traditional folk dance from the northern state of Punjab, India, the dance blends traditional Bhangra dance steps with the exhilaration of Bollywood (Hindi film) moves.

The class offers a cardiovascular workout with overall toning, body conditioning, endurance building, and balance.

The dance is easy to follow and can be modified to the comfort level of the participant, making it accessible to all fitness levels.

Children and adults are invited to participate.

Admission is free.

Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing.
