The junior library at Gunn Memorial Library in Washington has announced a new program to help reluctant, shy or struggling readers improve their confidence.
Children are invited to read with Rover, a specially-trained dog, Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m.
Participating dogs are Good Dog Foundation graduates, all trained and certified therapy dogs.
Children may bring their own book or use a library book.
