Diane Dubreuil and Ray Crawford enjoyed the spotlight recently as the New Milford Rotary Club hosted its annual awards presentation at The Maxx in New Milford.

The April 21 awards were the highlight of the Rotary’s monthly meeting and luncheon.

The club presented its 2015 community service awards to Dubreuil and Crawford.

In addition, 28 of the 50 past award recipients attended the lunch to recognize the 20th anniversary of the community service awards.

Dubreuil, a volunteer for the town’s Commission on the Arts since 1989, has served in numerous capacities in the community. She has nurtured and expanded the annual Edwin Kinkade concert series on the Village Green, as well as the holiday season Carol Sing, and was an active member of the town’s Tricentennial Committee in 2007, the Rotary said. She was instrumental in bringing Gallery 25 & Creative Arts Studio to fruition along Church Street, and is a past volunteer and board member at the New Milford Historical Society and past Girl Scout leader, according to the Rotary.

Crawford volunteers his time and expertise for a range of causes, particularly as a scuba diver with the Candlewood Lake Authority. In addition, he served on the lake’s zebra mussel task force, and was involved with the original design for the scale-model solar system and with the creation of the sundial in Galileo’s Garden at John J. McCarthy Observatory, on the New Milford High School campus, the Rotary said. Crawford often lectures on the protection and preservation of Candlewood Lake.
