Gunn Memorial Library in Washington will present a book talk and signing with Sylvia Lyon Rodman Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Rodman will discuss and sign copies of her recently published work "The Anglo Brambles" at the Wykeham Road library.

A novel based on facts and set in the 1970s, the story takes a witty look at the pitfalls awaiting a wealthy South American family who flee political turmoil only to find conflicts of a different kind in the United States.

Rodman was born in Chile. Political upheavals of the 1970s forced her to move, first to Brazil, and later to the United States.
