Robert Schnabel, 60, had worked in New Milford

Robert D. Schnabel, 60, of Springfield, Mass., died July 12.

Mr. Schnabel was born in Bethel to the late William and Carolyn (Allen) Schnabel.

He majored in psychology and child development at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury and had a career in child development at New Milford Community Center Services.

He is survived by his life partner, Margaret Jones; family member, Jean Courtney; his colleague and dear friend, Maud MacArthur; and his beloved cats, Angel,and Kissey.

Burial will be in Connecticut at a later date.

New England Funeral & Cremation Center of Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
